The Bodhi Chan Meditation Centre is situated in Brisbane, Australia and serves as a Buddhist Monastery. Our mission at Bodhi Chan is to share the teachings of Chan Buddhism and spread awareness of the practice of Chan meditation to the world. Our devoted monks and volunteers strive to help others with compassion and create a community of modern-day bodhisattvas.
Master Hui Chyuan, a prominent teacher of Chan/Zen Buddhism, founded the Bodhi Chan Meditation Centre (BCMC) in 2014 to share Chan teachings with the western world. We organize a range of events, workshops, and meditation retreats suitable for meditators and practitioners of all traditions. Our weekly dharma talks, meditation classes, retreats, and courses are available for everyone.
In keeping with the tradition of Chinese Chan Buddhism, we encourage you to participate in the process of awakening and experience the timeless practice of Chan meditation. Our meditation center provides a secure and nurturing environment where students of all levels can gain a clear understanding of the practice of Chan Buddhism.
At Bodhi Chan, we are not a conventional monastery but a center for learning and practice where people from all walks of life can unite to learn and grow together. We are committed to imparting the authentic practice of Chan (Chinese Zen) meditation in a non-sectarian way. All are welcome to join us for our daily and weekly meditation classes as well as retreats for meditators of all levels.
If you wish to join us one day, we welcome you with open arms. You will become a part of a diverse group of students who share a common interest in learning and implementing the teachings of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas. Together, we will learn how the beauty of Chan Buddhism can help us 'See Things As They Really Are'.
